If I am wrong, correct me.
Well, apparently it's not that simple: https://blog.martin-graesslin.com/bl...ion-into-kwin/

KWin will become a Wayland compositor, but will remain an X11 window manager to support legacy X11 clients on Wayland. Given that there is no need to “kill” the X11 only option. The possibility to run an X11 window manager without Wayland will continue to be available and fully supported for the time being.

I was forced to switch back to Xorg. I use Gnome, and only really use 3 different Qt based applications. Quassel, which is open sourced, but still uses libQt4, Zoom and Hipchat (both using libQt4 and closed source). Those three do not jive with the clipboard of Wayland, so when I'd try to copy from Evolution and paste into Zoom, it'd fail miserably.
