    Not all that new, either. It might be just a 1.0 release, but Michael has reported on Solus several times this year...

      Yes, there are so many forked distributions. I'm so glad Solus is not another derivative. it is built from scratch. Solus is the first new truly independent distribution for a very long time.

        Independent from glibc/X/Qt/GTK/sysv/systemd? Or from what?

          It has a unique desktop environment, unique package manager, and a unique fork of it's boot loader.
