    From the article:

At the end of the day, you aren't losing any real performance if you wipe out Microsoft Windows 11 Pro for a modern Linux distribution on this Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 4 AMD laptop.

What you are losing is the ability to run proprietary, closed source solutions that do not run natively on Linux and that barely run with WINE.

If you are 100% sure that you will never have a need to run Excel, even the new AI powered versions, never need to run any software from Magix for video or audio editing and production, never need to run Adobe Premiere, never need to run Staxrip, never need to run any of Black Magic Design's control panels, never desire to play any Windows only that can't be run on Linux via WINE or similar, than by all means, wipe out Windows and install only Linux.

However, a more prudent approach is to run a dual boot, because you never know when someone is going to offer you a good paying work from home consulting job that requires you to run bare metal Win 10/11 and you suddenly find you need to have a fully functioning Windows instance to earn a living.

You have no way of knowing what the "world" uses on "servers" because you have no way of checking every single computer that can be called a "server".

In the corporate environments I have seen, Linux is used for database and email servers, and Windows is used for DHCP, DNS and Active Directory servers.

Web servers tend to be either LAMP or IIS.

Calling Android a "Linux derivative" and Mac OS/IOS a Unix derivative is grossly misleading. While the kernels' of each is based on a build of each, the actual OSes are so far removed that they are not even remotely binary compatible.

Lastly, let's assume for the sake of argument that it could be proved that "Linux on servers", what would that mean? What if you found out that the dominant distro on servers was Red Hat 7, would that mean that the best distro to use for everyday use is RH7.

It's actually funny, in a sad way, that people such as yourself, who preach the gospel of Linux the loudest are also the people with the least general IT knowledge.

I would say that Ferrari owners are rich and die-hard Linux users are penniless hippies.
