AM4 on the other hand? Absolutely not.
It's just marketing. I remembered that AM4 came out ahead of Ryzen with a few Bristol Ridge APU's but those were *also* DDR4.

But it looks like ~$175 is about what it would cost. You could skimp more on the power supply, and that AM4 board can support just about any Ryzen processor.
