Not technically since Gnome is a Deepin dependency.

It is a nice looking desktop and it made me really wish Plasma and other desktops had a sidebar control panel.

If you want people to be able to have alternatives you should support development of independent components that make up a desktop instead of monolithic all-in-one desktop shells where it's 100% take it or leave it.

Does this mean that there will be a Deepin "Spin" of Fedora, or just the the packages will be available?

Never heard of this 'Deepin' desktop before. Looking at a few youtube videos of it, it appears to offer a very polished experience. I see elements borrowed from Win10 and from OSX. Unfortunate that it runs atop GNOME3.

I'm still very satisfied with MATE, but it's nice to see something new out there that caters to those turned off by Plasma & GNOME3.

This article even states that Deepin is Qt5 based. They do use some GTK widgets, but in no stretch can you say that Deepin is Gnome3 based.

The Chinese communist distribution Deepin was in fact running GNOME with a skin on top of it for many years. It was GNOME based. The Deepin Desktop Environment spyware is in fact written in Qt. Their Desktop Environment has nothing to do with GNOME, it is their own custom Qt-based thing. And yes, they really are admitting that they are submitting information about your screen size and your browser and other incriminating details and they call it "harmless". They are not even trying to deny it, just like Fedora isn't denying that they want to give each installation a special UUID which identifies you so they can "harmlessly count you".

I just tried the Deepin Linux version.
It is a bit concerning that the Deepin software manager can install software without a password.
This means that the Deepin software center has elevated privileges given by default.
