    this featureful text editor
Well that's a generous way to describe Vim if I ever saw one...

vim is featureful. What text editing feature does it not have?

Ease of use is a different matter entirely.

Does any of these changes end up back in vim?

maybe "Windows is now considered fully supported" or "Windows support is now considered fully complete"?

I keep a copy installed everywhere I have access. Sort of like a "when all else fails" fall back. Give me a GuI based editor any other time though.

no, and I also expect neovim-ng a fork of neovim in future without upstream patches for vim or neovim :-P

Good, looks like they fixed the highly annoying cursor shifting, which was always plaguing vim.

cursor keeps position after leaving insert-mode.
I had a special workaround set for that, but looks like it won't be needed now.

                  Note another change:

NVIM_TUI_ENABLE_CURSOR_SHAPE was removed. Use 'guicursor' instead.

Not directly, but improvements in neovim forced vim to start catching up, and stop ignoring features that were requested from vim for years. I'm using neovim directly though, so that doesn't really concern me.

I use Vim literally for everything, from simple text files to full blown coding (well, shell scripts and web dev). My number one essential program by far.

Never tried Neovim though and I can't remember why... Maybe it was certain plug-in compatibility or something.
