So... an alpha of something is released, more people are now using it, and now there are more bug reports than usual coming in. "Wow." Issa outrage!

As much as I'm liberal and like new features, customization, user freedom, and choice, I'm also conservative and not a fan of newness and change for the sake of newness and change. Keeping it traditional while giving it the power to become modern or anything in between is the best thing about KDE app standards and the Plasma desktop.
KDE app standards and Plasma in what regard? KDE apps (and the DE) are quite different from the 1, 2 and 3 era and Plasma 5 is a different beast compared to 4. These are all noticeable differences, in apps and Plasma. 5 to 6 is the first time the changes are more subtle.

For restyling there are plenty of options, even on Plasma 6. Kvantum, Sculpture, Oxygen, et all have all been ported to Qt 6 some time ago. And recently, ye olde GTK2 style plugin has been ported as well.

I remember those days of KDE 1-3... it was horrid. GNOME was the clear choice then... I don't think I ever saw hide or hair of KDE4. But KDE 5 is friggin' fantastic, and I'm glad they're not making any radical changes (*cough* GNOME3 *cough*)

Wayland Presentation Time protocol is required for supporting HDR through Gamescope. So this is more good news. Thanks Xaver and others

Last time i was this excited for a DE release was when gnome3 was coming. I installed Fedora15 beta to get to test it, and oh boy was i disappointed when i actually got to use it. It was also the last time i saw kernel panics
I guess you're not reading through these bug reports that's why you find it impressive. They were long fixed, and now they're cleaning up the bug tracker entries. See this one - a reply after 10 years. A bug not closed in the times of as ancient as Plasma 4.
Or see this one - unsure if fixed, but it was assumed so. This one is maybe fixed, maybe not. Those were three first bugs on the list. They all make up 190, but don't make a diff between Plasma 5 and 6. You get the point.

Finally a desktop environment that takes Wayland, HDR, video playback, gaming seriously!
And one that also deals with the huge fragmentation that hurts Linux adoption by trying to make everyone happy!
Unlike Gnome with "My way or the highway!" or Cinnamon / MATE / XFCE with "Look, I changed the default background, colors, icons in the new version!"

Since 5. There's been a very noticeable effort to unify how all the KDE programs look and behave; menu bars, hamburgers, app layouts, etc. I'm not necessarily a fan of some of the choices they've gone with, but the old ways are still around so it's not worth splitting hairs over.

Retrospectively, Plasma 5 was just a long ass beta session for Plasma 6. That's a good thing.

„Dodge windows” is the very last feature I wished was implemented for panels. It’s complete now!

Seems like it is very much relevant today. So you only speak shit.
