Sure, Plasma is extremely configurable, but retaining sane default settings from the previous DE iteration shouldn't be that hard, even at an experimental stage. That is, unless there is a drive to change to this... thing. This indicates a direction and it is not a good sign.

Does KDE5 allow to separately theme its own systray/status icons though? Someone made a claim earlier in the discussion and so far there's been just a confirmation that it's only theoretically possible in the upcoming KDE6.
