I like the facts I see: Nvidia is finally aligning with Wayland and supporting GBM. XWayland is dropping EGLStream that will lead to code clean up. Future without X11 looks good and my emotions are all positive for these "facts". All good here. But you two are the ones whining/raving about these facts.

My point here isn't to push EGLStreams or anything, merely to point out that the GBM vs EGLS debate had no overall effect on the timeline for Wayland adoption, as there were other blockers that wouldn't have been sped even if the debate never happened. Things like screengrabbing, copy/paste, etc.

There is no objetive way to answer this "what if" statement.
.. but it certainly did look up a lot of developer resources that could have been better used elsewhere.
.. it also seeded doubt where there was none (i mean you are still subjected to it)
