By the way, many times I read comments about the concerns on legacy hardware. However, this is not the main concern for end-users. End-users make investments on hardware based on taking benefit in software usage. End-users get new hardware if the technology improves in optimization assuring benefits. So, the better is the software the more is the propensity to get new hardware.

Fedora will drop X11 in 2024 and all other Linux distros will most likely (have to) follow. Fedora has always been the source of most of the innovations and standards in the Linux world. Accordingly, Wayland will be pushed through even more in 2024.

No they won't.
They still have to keep it for all the X11 based spins, these SIGs will need to keep it at the very least packaged.

In addition to that there is Wayland will stay in for the foreseeable future.
