I read the discussion and I can understand all the points of view, but the point is another ... if you decide for a proprietary driver, it is your problem to support Wayland, because I would not be happy to work maybe free to support proprietary software . If we are an open source community we support open source software, if software or hardware owner wants to be supported it is up to them to do the work and keep it.
