and the mesa updates from today fixed it again. as i previously said, it may be hardware dependend, i.e. it may depend if you were having an intel, amd or nvidia graphics...
but in my case it broke yesterday with only updating mesa and got resolved today with only updating mesa, both from oibaf.
so my best bet is that the mesa git got a bug and the automated oibaf builds catched it and the next build got the fix.

I have a MSI R7970 Lightning on Ubuntu 13.10 and it works well with the PPA, except for one thing: the fans seems to be stuck around 50-70% all the time, making my desktop too noisy to be usable.
I enabled dpm but it changed nothing.
Is there a setting somewhere that I should tweak or is it a bug?
For the record, here is the sensor output:
Code:$ sensors acpitz-virtual-0 Adapter: Virtual device temp1: +27.8?C (crit = +106.0?C) temp2: +29.8?C (crit = +106.0?C) radeon-pci-0100 Adapter: PCI adapter temp1: +33.0?C coretemp-isa-0000 Adapter: ISA adapter Physical id 0: +34.0?C (high = +85.0?C, crit = +105.0?C) Core 0: +32.0?C (high = +85.0?C, crit = +105.0?C) Core 1: +34.0?C (high = +85.0?C, crit = +105.0?C) Core 2: +30.0?C (high = +85.0?C, crit = +105.0?C) Core 3: +32.0?C (high = +85.0?C, crit = +105.0?C) pkg-temp-0-virtual-0 Adapter: Virtual device temp1: +34.0?C

I have no idea how can it be found by VLC.
