Meanwhile Mesa 23.2 hasn't seen a stable point release in six weeks since its initial (belated) release itself. So with how Mesa 23.3 is pacing it's very well possible Mesa 23.3 will be out as stable before any update for that current stable series.
mesa 23.2 hasnt seen a stable release literally at all, go to the mesa site https://www.mesa3d.org/ the stable is 23.1.9, check the mesa release mailing list https://lists.freedesktop.org/archiv...er/thread.html there is no 23.2.

Either mesa has suddenly and mysteriously entirely abandoned every single one of its release processes, ORRR it has not seen a stable release since 23.1.9. They announced the 23.3.0 RCs, its not like they've forgotten how to do releases. This was mentioned in the comments on the phoronix article about the initial git tag too.

I also didn't see an official announcement but 23.2.1 was tagged and some distros have picked it up. According to a previous announcement 23.2.0 was tagged in error so 23.2.1 is the first 'stable' release.

Apparently Manjaro, if not others, don't pick it up until the first point release so have yet to officially include that in repo leaving building from source (with HW acceleration re-enabled) or downloading Arch packages as the only way to install it.

Mesa 23.2.x was basically extremely delayed. It will be short lived most likely.

Linux 6.7 with Nouveau GSP support and Mesa 23.3 with NVK will be interesting thing for some benchmarks.
