Ahead how? Last time I checked NVIDIA still controls over 80% of the dGPU market and not because they cheat or lie but because they offer superior features and excellent drivers.

It's amazing that only Open Source fans continue to predict doom and gloom for NVIDIA yet the company has becoming more and more successful in the past few years. I don't know what makes them believe that being pro Open Source means anything in this world. Hint: it barely means anything.

Excellent drivers for what. The reality here is on OS X and Linux workstations you can see this in steam survey and other places AMD is the dominate dGPU.

Truth , lies and statistics is what you are doing here.

Yes it true that 80% of the dgpu market over all is Nvidia. But that number does not tell you that Nvidia does excellent drivers every where. But does Nvidia have 80% of the dgpu in the Linux desktop market the answer is no and does Nvidia have 80% in the Mac OS X market the answer is again no.

AMD has also been more successful in the dgpu market in the last few years as well. Is AMD and Nvidia success even across the market not it not. AMD is being more successful with the Linux and Mac OS X markets.

The over all GPU market for desktop/laptop computers still has Intel as number 1 AMD as number 2 and Nvidia as distant third.

The reality here Nvidia driver quality is not even between platforms. Yes that sharedthe one binary blob between all platforms that Nvidia does results in Windows being square peg into square hole so works well but mac OS X and Linux having a round hole and having to fit a square peg so things not working right all the time.

The last thing you want do to a new user is have them run a OS with a bit hardware that only partly fits correctly.

avem this is not just open source fans with a problem with Nvidia. If that was the case you would not have Mac OS X users as well avoiding Nvidia or warning other users of Mac OS X if they get a Nvidia card they could have trouble. There is a fundamental problem.coming out of how Nvidia has cost cut their driver development.
