    But this is still great news, it's been a long road to get here and it looks like things are moving forward.
    The patches have been going to the mailing list and most are reviewed (take a look at the individual commits). It looks like AMD are aligning to the way Intel work. They have public branches and submit to Dave after rc5. The i915 driver has a to do list, the current todo list isn't a blocker for merging per se.

    It looks like the bits that the other devs had the most issues with have been dealt with, there's no reason the DC switch couldn't be behind staging until the todo list was completed. If you remember back to Nouveau, Linus wanted it merged because people were using it - even though it wasn't ready at the time
