  • AMDGPU-PRO takes 30% more watts under linux what windows

    Hello guys.
I have problem that i am gpu mining ethereum and in linux i have much bigger watt usage.
Windows takes 110 watt while linux takes 150 watt.
All measured by powermeter from wall.
The same clocks and dps is used.
Still linux is like doesnt respect undervolting or somethink like that.
    Anybody can help ?

I didn't think we had support for undervolting on Linux yet - sounds like you are undervolting on Windows ?

How are you doing the undervolting on Linux right now ? Which GPU(s) are you using ?

          I checked this.
Editing voltage of core and memory in bios (polalris bios editr) doesnt work for linux at all.
I set 800mv in all fields, and flashed gpu tested, and did the same with 1000mv.
Result, it consumed the same wattage from wall
So how to resolve undervoltiing under linux ?
Meaby editing pp_table from kernel will help ?

Thats because the VDDCI in the BIOS is set to 1000mv, therefore core voltage will not drop below that in linux when your just editing the bios tables. Windows has a lot more tools to get around that.
