I tried installing http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-arti...ase-Notes.aspx but get blank screen.

I am using Ubuntu 16.04 with kernel 4.8.0-41-generic #44~16.04.1-Ubuntu.

Is there UVD support in combination with Mesa in Kernel 4.10 (or 4.11)? I am asking, because I am not sure if that is the case and I have done something wrong, or if it's normal.

User Guest has posted here that it should work for R9 290/390 (GCN 1.1 Hawaii Pro).
