And why are there two different code names?

Usually multiple business units selling the same chip, eg desktop vs mobile.

Aren't both (Iceland and Topaz) mobile chips?

Hmm... not sure. If they are then I don't know why we have two names either

Iceland was the overall codename for the asic itself, Topaz is the name of the currently shipping variants. Mostly comes down to marketing. It's similar with previous asics. E.g., Hainan aka Sun or Jet. Or Tonga, aka Amethyst.

Marketing uses neither Iceland nor Topaz.
                Marketing uses something like e. g. R7 M260.

I suppose Iceland/Topaz is Volcanic Islands. Correct?
So this is the 3rd dedicated Volcanic Islands chip besides Tonga/Antigua and Fiji?
                What about Samoa and Maui?

Yes, the shader ISA is VI (CGN 1.2).

More or less; the shader ISA is VI. Iceland is a newer gfx only chip (no display or multi-media engines) similar to Hainan mainly targeted at PX laptops.

I have Dell Inspiron with this 7548:
08:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Opal XT [Radeon R7 M265]
                    Subsystem: Dell Device 066f
                    Kernel driver in use: radeon
                    Kernel modules: radeon

                    What is Opal XT?
I'm not able to install amdgpu (PRIME)[fabrizio@localhost ~]$ xrandr --listproviders
                    Providers: number : 2
Provider 0: id: 0x68 cap: 0xb, Source Output, Sink Output, Sink Offload crtcs: 4 outputs: 3 associated providers: 0 name:Intel

fabrixx, looks like you do have an Oland-based GPU (Opal would be the marketing name for the mobile part) so radeon is the correct driver.
