Yesterday I tested the Steam 2D game "Dust: An elysian tale" under Xubuntu 15.10.
Open source from oibaf ppa: Perfectly smooth. Perfect experience.
Catalyst 15.9: Dramatic decrease of FPS. Playable but distracting.

Yes, they are for the same issue. For existing distros/xservers without the xserver patch I posted, we need to fix this issue from driver side.

It is a simple vulkan test application with PresentOptionAsync option specified, in which case we don't need to wait for the vblank.

Although I'm an "Nvidia Guy", I have an ATi-based backup. Any improvement to the abysmal flgx driver is more than welcome.
