You may also be expecting a level of "responsiveness" from the binary driver which is only common in the open source world. We put out a new release each month, and each release includes a number of fixes / enhancements. The QA cycle for each release overlaps with the development cycle of the next release, so fixes for user issues encountered with release N are usually able to appear in release N+2 at the earliest, and typically later than that. You seem to be expecting "building from open source git master" turnaround times, saying "gee, it's been a couple of months and ohmigod the problem is still there, something must be terribly wrong !!".
