    The driver contains OpenGL 3.2 support.

        leaving aside any comments about xvba (no need to get into that again!), opengl3.2 support is welcome. Shall have to try it out soon.

            damn, i've got the dreaded 'black screen' that everyones been ranting about for years, but I've never been afflicted until now...

            Is there any synopsis on what causes it? or just bad luck

              Try to remove /etc/ati/amdpcsdb and reboot.
