  • Conspiracy Threads Inside! (Tinfoil hat required)

Would we have a different driver if the ATI open source driver was developed by an Ubuntu shop (even using the same staff) instead of Novell? (Conspiracy: Novell and Microsoft have cross-licenses and Novell is more in the Microsoft camp than any other Linux authored company)

3D accelleration is in the next ATI driver release!

Conspiracy: Yes, it is true, except it only works for XTX cards. All others, including all on-baord-GPUs will be marked as 'legacy.'

      What do you mean?

xf86-video-ati is developed more by Red Hat and AMD than Ubuntu.
      xf86-video-radeonhd is the Novell one.

The acceleration code in the two drivers is also pretty much the same, so if there is a conspiracy it is both complex and subtle.

What you say is irrelevant and obviously a deception since you're part of the conspiracy.

Wait a minute, the posters name is The_Monkey_King. Novell bought Ximian, Ximian used a monkey as a logo... This is obviously disinformation and intended to lure us away from the REAL conspiracy!

Apparently they're not really black, just very dark green.

LMAO, Ubuntu + develop in the same sentence, all that is missing is the word kernel.

No, if the developers were on Canonical's payroll, they probably would be just as far along (if not behind) from where they are now. They would still have all of the same issues with access to docs, having to update the X.org infrastructure, getting a kernel memory manager, etc.

Completely irrelevant to this hypothetical situation, but keep stoking your ego.

Nothing hypothetical about it. Ubuntu really hasn't shown that they have the capability nor talent to pull off such a task.
