AMD should just drop amdvlk and join in on RADV development. It's not like AMD has a ton of software engineers to waste, and the future looks increasingly dim going against RADV.

Hell, Valve should buy out AMD's consumer products groups and leave them to chase Epyc/server/HPC.

Imho only chance for cross-platform RADV would be if it received PAL support. At least amdvlk is open and thus helps both game and Mesa devs, so could be worse. Btw. they've improved amdvlk quite a lot. Performance with vkd3d-proton still leaves a lot to be desired, but they've added a bunch of extensions (and GPL now finally works with DXVK), rolled out the open compiler with RDNA3 on Windows and also made the compiler faster on the CPU (I guess somewhat matches old proprietary one now, but just vague guessing).
