Phoronix: Unofficial Radeon ROCm Packages Re-Enable APU Support

Over a year ago the AMD APU support in the Radeon Open Compute (ROCm) stack was quietly removed and has yet to be re-enabled in the upstream ROCm packages. But should you be wanting to use ROCm for their compute APIs or OpenCL on APUs, unofficial Ubuntu packages are now available to provide this capability...

Q: I am looking for the patches to enable ROCm on APUs. Can you share them?

A: Unfortunately not. Bruhnspace cannot share the patches.

I feel like I'm the only one who clicks the links in the articles around here.

If this was GPL, they'd be in breech. Luckily for them it's not.

Does any one know if APU support was removed in ROCm 2.3? I have been scratching my head about why Resolve hasn't worked with any version of ROCm since 2.2? Isn't the whole point of ROCm to provide APU support? Does any one know when ROCm will be available for RH8?

                  it's more like:
AMD(2016): Buy APUs! It's next next heterogeneous thing! Call it HSA!
AMD: Don't call it HSA it's ROCm now!
AMD (2018): Fck everybody who bought APUs. We don't support them in ROCm anymore.
