What Linux kernel, packages and drivers are needed for AMD Ryzen 3?

    No it's a 2700X but with a maximum frequency set in the BIOS (completely ignored btw). Kernel was at the time 4.17.0-rc6

      This forum is for Xorg graphical drivers. Ryzen CPUs without iGPs don't use this driver at all. Frequency scaling is a different matter altogether.

        What i'm saying that on Linux the cpu and gpu drivers are separate for cpus that don't have iGPs (unlike Windows where you get an AMD ginormous driver pack for everything including the kitchen sink).
        For APUs yes, on Linux the scaling and frequencies are affected by the graphical driver, there is the "bapm" parameter that lets both components overdrive if thermals permit (it also was a source of lockups and other bugs in the past).
