At least the higher memory cards look to be viable mining cards, so it might depend on a crypto crash.

Anyone know what the current Linux driver situation is for Alchemist?

The architecture is stated to support sr-iov, and will be available "in at least some discrete cards". Whether shipping desktop cards (vs. server/workstation cards) will have it available is still unclear. And then there is the necessary software support. I have not checked recently, but last I looked the intel linux driver did not have the necessary support, although Windows apparently will.

I915 absolutely has sr-iov support. I have enabled it and used it before on an igpu

                    - Sapphire Rapids Xeon processors with HBM memory are said to deliver a 2.8x generational improvement over Xeon 3rd Gen Ice Lake Sapphire Rapids with HBM for CFD is said to be 2.8x faster than "competing solutions".
                    Smells like extreme cherry picking.

I see a rumor that Genoa won't have HBM, but 3D V-Cache in Milan-X and future Epyc CPUs could produce similar results. Not in all workloads.
