Phoronix: Intel Iris Gallium3D Driver Merged To Mainline Mesa 19.1

Well that sure didn't take long... Less than 24 hours after the merge request to mainline the Intel "Iris" Gallium3D driver was sent out, it's now been merged into the mainline code-base! The Intel Gallium3D driver is now in Mesa Git for easy testing of their next-generation OpenGL Linux driver...

If you want to test it, you can find it in my PPA:

Nice work by Intel! It's nice that we can easily test the new driver with just an environment variable change, without changing the default driver used for other components as well.

Does that mean intel will finally have a VDPAU statetracker?

I'm seeing build failures on 32bit without -fpermissive being passed (due to the new vulkan layer)

          https://pastebin.com/zcS4wgKJ

Also funky rendering if it's used on 64bit https://imgur.com/a/96XgOmg

That's with the intel DDX, I can't get anythign working with the modesetting DDX

oibaf , since you're there, do your ppa distributes swr? I'm was a long time user of your ppa, I'm currently on padoka's one that somewhat derivates from yours and padoka's one does not distribute swr as far as I know (maybe I can ask him to ^_^). I sometime have the need for software rasterizers ans while llvmpipe does the job it may be useful to have the swr option also available. Good job by the way. :-)

Not necessarily. Why does that matter though, VDPAU is dead.

Currently not included. If you care open a bug in Debian: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?src=mesa , this way after they'll add it I'll also pick it up in my PPA.
