Why such extensive coverage of Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET and zero coverage for tools that have always (or nearly always) fully supported Linux as a first class citizen like JetBrains IDEs, the official Scala IDE (based on Eclipse), Java, Scala, and Akka.

Well, you know, all that is crap. It's "old", it's "slow", it's "verbose"... and Oracle is the devil itself. Microsoft are the cool guys. They've always helped Linux. Its new CEO is cool too, and he loves Linux, even though none of Microsoft's products will ever run on that platform. And now you can target linux from your visual studio 2015, of course running on your brand new windows 10 desktop. Isn't it a dream come true? :-D
