    And here we are on Archlinux, still on LLVM 16 while 17 has been ready for some time and 18 around the corner. I don't understand why they routinely hesitate to upgrade to the next version so much.

      Yeah, that is a common theme on Arch lately. Maybe there should be major changes in how they organize themselves with more automatation and build servers instead of relying on volunteers for packaging. Getting the LLVM toolchain right is important as it affects many other dependant packages but it is also not the easiest thing one could do, but the maintainer seemed a bit overwhelmed with that task the last couple of releases.
