    Likely, but it might not be its main goal. As said, the most likely goal in the short term is hooking low-end third world OEMs in the Android ecosystem, as quadcore devices with 1 GB of RAM become cheaper it will cease to be useful as they will switch to full Android.
    Afaik that's still enough for proper operation of a AOSP/LineageOS Android, unless something changed dramatically with Android 7.

    Another place where it might be interesting is in embedded devices, there is a significant amount of embedded stuff with a GUI using a customized Android in the wild already, plus quite a bit of stuff using Android 2.3 in a headless system like Qualcomm-based and Huawei 3G/4G modem dongle/cards. http://www.itworld.com/article/28332...-platform.html
