    Phoronix: Purism Making Some Progress On Convergence With Phosh Running On Desktop

    One of many features not yet in place for Purism's Librem 5 smartphone is working convergence where one can plug-in a display and keyboard/mouse to the phone and have a working system, along the lines of what was originally envisioned by Canonical with Ubuntu Touch. But some progress is being made with at least getting their phone-focused "Phosh" Wayland compositor working on the desktop form factor...

    The calls are seemingly approaching the fix, there's at least one user on the forum confirming the end to end calls are working (after unmuting audio via alsa cli). So there should likely be official update with the fix soon. The battery... yea, it was known to be the biggest pain point.

        No idea for the Battery side.

        While it works, there is still a bit of work to do on it. Right now it seems that pulseaudio cannot control the volume of the speaker, so I had to manually tell it to turn up the volume (hence the command). From the chat, they have a workaround coming to have the speaker on, but you have to still manually change the volume. The microphone seems to work in pulseaudio. What is really neat to see is they are upstreaming the fixes to pulseaudio, rather than going off on their own (which may fix the...
