Well...there is VIA.
Joking aside, both AMD and Intel have CPUs that use less power and are still fairly decent (I think Intel's a bit better perf/watt at the higher performance levels, though). As far as GPUs go, my r9-270x performs well enough with a waterblock and no heatsinks (aside from the small one that's factory installed). I'm sure you could get by with a single-slot cooler on it if you had good case airflow. The problem is, the fans they use take up a lot of space unless it's a blower-style cooler--most people don't like those because they're usually noisy, and they don't cool well when they have to suck in heat from another GPU. A fanless cooler would work, assuming you had a fan directed at it and an exhaust somewhere nearby to pull the hot air out.Last edited by Nobu; 26 August 2015, 02:29 PM.

I don't know if any of you care or not but it was leaked on a certain website by accident before a retraction that the card should be *the apparent leak was a troll* which is pretty much right given it's around 290-390x performance (around 4k, God knows how it does @ 1080p) but can't lie I really want one, not sure why when a 290x would be much cheaper and has better support atm on Linux but I suppose I like to torture myself sometimes.
Edit:
$650US according to wccftech.

Some unconfirmed reports are suggesting the Radeon R9 Nano will sell for around $499, which puts it at just a bit-less than the air-cooled R9 Fury at $549+ and the R9 Fury X at $649.

Hmm, okay, this little neat thing reminds me reasons why I got R9 270 some time ago: it is compact yet powerful numbers cruncher which is not power hungry at all (unless you crunching numbers at 100% of its capacity all the time). So I would consider something like this as my next GPU. Especially if opensource support would mature (I'm really not in mood to deal with Catalyst, but I really like how opensource graphics performs on R9 270 these days).

To other folks: well there was one small yet powerful gpu: https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/ROG_ARESIII8GD5/
I personally dont mind water cooled solution, cpu is already water cooled. No clue what was the price, i think it was made just 500 of these. I dont get why, there surely should be a demand. Market is in a bit sorry state on this front..
