That's not fair. I bought one shortly after facebook bought oculus because I thought, with that money they surely had enough to put enough engineers on the sdk to make it work on linux.

This is an exhaustive list of software that I have tried that runs smoothly so far:
      • The tuscany demo from the sdk

Minecrift starts well and smooth, but it loses fps very quickly and gets juddery.

weston-rift works, but is buggy and almost everything crashes on it.

I have tried one quite a bit, but it's very hard to stay excited about a prolonged stutter and judder party.

Huh? The Rift hasn't been delayed a single time.

This stuff makes me sad. I've only got one functional eye and thus have no depth perception. These things don't work for me :'(

The 3D won't but the motion tracking and full lifelike field of view still will. And if you're not used to 3D in real life I doubt you'd notice it's missing in game.

I just hope this won't end in disaster.
HTC/S3/VIA... doesn't stir up good memories if you know what I mean.

If it works out well, then we have a good chance of a HW that is supported in Linux from the start. I hope Valve sees importance in freedom drivers. Blob drivers are useless.
Stop TCPA, stupid software patents and corrupt politicians!

Last Chrome cards from S3 were with windows-only drivers and no documentation whatsoever. It would u-turn for them to make FLOSS drivers. But stranger things happened.

What I think you are missing is stereoscopic, but you do have depth.

There have been a lot of 1 eye warriors so don't be sad

Something doesn't add up. VR's main point: porn. What Valve does absolutely not allow: porn.
