    It looks like D-BUS indeed can launch applications, don't know if that is something that GameMode uses or not. I'm not too familiar with D-BUS yet, just noticed that systemd itself have no D-BUS activation since the D-BUS name have to exist on the system for the systemd unit files to work.

        Not really. Even if you have swap, that assumption is only true if you either start swapping, or have high swappiness configured.

        If you think that's a great idea, I assume you like your computer hanging as it's swapping things in and out. Enjoy your wasted write cycles and additional stutter when something requires work from the daemon.
