Gone are the days where exciting used to mean a new scheduler, a new I/O layer, major core kernel rework.
Today it's just tidbits in the periphery of the driver set. Core stuff are competent enough I guess, but those are the fun bits.
I remember when the transition came to 2.2.x and 2.4.x.. Aaah. Major rework. Those were the days. Remeniss.
But I guess that's what one gets for having built every major release since the first 2.0.x... Coming up on 20 years of building my own Linux kernels next year.
