    After video, the most common thing I see it used for is bulk file upload, since that was traditionally a pain under HTML. Unnecessary now - HTML5 is much more capable in that respect - but a lot of sites are still using it (e.g uploading photos to Facebook).

      Actually, that's exactly what *does* happen. Sites that try to detect Flash support are a nuisance, because they fail to detect it, and instead of rendering the plugin window that the user would click on to activate the plugin, they display content telling you how to install Flash. I *have* Flash, but their too-clever detection behaviour doesn't give me the chance to activate it.
