    It is feasible and possible.
    There are patches for the Linux kernel to do so called zram.

      Apologies to the author for this, got some time to do some research and LZHam looks excellent. I assumed it had comparable compression ratios to LZ4.
      I'll be keeping an eye on this for a 1.0 release.
