    But it looks like so far only the basic NTSYNC driver patches are in char-misc-next and currently not the entire complete series.
    Too bad, I was really looking forward to fully working NTSYNC in Linux 6.10.

      Wine is a userland app that runs on Linux, so Wine is as much "Linux" as anything else. And it's Wine that uses the kernel's ntsync.

        Ironically, this is one of the few times I fully agree with you

        Linux is a minority in desktop, so compatibility layers are still a must to have a competitive alternative for certain software such as games.

        There's nothing wrong with it and is a relatively good alternative, but the ecosystem shouldn't rely for it in the long term when the desktop usagw ratio increases. And that may happen anytime, for example in a war or the MicroSith Empire disappear, more difficult empires were defeated earlier.
