Nobody is offended about changing terminology, nobody really cares about whether we used the word 'slave' or 'target' or 'client' or 'something'. People are either bothered by the sheer pointlessless of it, or the dubious motivations behind the changes, someone changing up terminology in some comments is something nobody truly gives two shits about (hence pointless).

And they took the time to update the standards as well before it finally rains down into a kernel patchset. So many hours by so many people for a "no functionality changes intended" patchset.

It's just like bringing politics in the kernel at this point 😔 adds overhead for words that must not be interpreted as such.

We need more inclusivity in FOSS. I'm glad that this is happening.

There's nothing bad about inclusivity. Stop getting your panties in a twist. "Muh politics" when FOSS is inherently political lmao

Isn't it time to stop cowering in the corner and start speaking truth? All of the meek geeks who cower and virtue signal are the problem - it isn't "them," it is "us"; the majority. Start refusing to build stuff that makes the world worse, start refusing to build things that are an implementation of a lie, start refusing to take money and status in return for lying or omission (same thing in my opinion). We don't really need that much money or job security; do what is right and life will open up for you.

Username checks out. Being good engineers does not mean we must disbelieve in ourselves; that we have a soul; and that hedonism and all of this evil demonic stuff that is popping up is to be accepted automatically.

Nice! Now, the "Client" system should be freed of it's slavery routines. And must be given the same rights, priorities and access levels as the control systems enjoy. I mean any subsystem and driver should absolutely have the right to refuse to provide any service if it feels so.

Do they even see the irony or humor in any of this - and are gaslighting us all about it - or do you think they cannot perceive it?
