And here I thought we were still trying to just "get rid of" the console. well jokes aside, it will be nice to start seeing these patches get merged.

This is *under* the VT console. So it's impacting how the serial console works too. (Without VTs it defaults to /dev/ttyS0)

RTOS does not imply multitasking. DOS only runs a single task and does it well. You can turn off interrupts if you need real time performance.

The point is that saying "even DOS" is sort of like criticizing a semi truck for not being something you can carry when "even my bicycle" can do that. They are very different things, designed to prioritize different use-cases. Of course it's easier for DOS to be RTable when it doesn't provide preemptive multitasking.
