    U-Boot seems to never have been designed to be used by the end-user, which has made it a super pain to use by anyone who is trying to tinker a device for the first time, but it's what these devices designed to tinker with are shipping with.

    I'm glad Tow-Boot exists

      tow-boot is super cool.

        Just use Barebox, it got native device tree support for board init. Then you don't have to mess around with the old-school C board init code in U-Boot.
