    Not to belittle the hard work of the QEMU developers, but why is there still no sign of virtio-snd (paravirtualized sound), months after the guest driver for this standard has already made its way into the mainline Linux kernel?

      Probably because they have more important things to work on. most of qemu devs are oriented around enterprise stuff. red hat and what not. if a company wanted something into qemu, they will usually outsource (IE. Collabora) to get it implemented.

      everyone who wanted virtio-snd, mostly wants pipewire now instead
