I suppose the difference is that bcachefs is developed out of tree for a decade, while btrfs was fast-tracked into Linux upstream long before it was ready.

Probably also a difference in funding and manpower.

To be fair, we don't know how ready bcachefs is. We'll only know that once widespread testing/usage starts.

Btrfs was also considered "basic-feature-complete" when it was promoted from staging, and it's only then that various deficiencies started to appear.

could they make it do online resizing( I mean grow+reduce )?

I'm sure btrfs has more than 1 person working on it, even if not fulltime.

I think there are at least a couple of full time person working on it (and doing great!), but it's still not a lot.
