Hello!
I guess libreboot developer/founder Leah Rowe is now working on retroboot. https://retroboot.org/
I actually am running the retroboot ROM now, and it works fairly well.
It is basically libreboot, but has optional CPU microcode updates added for extra stability. Also Leah is heavily customizing grub (removing code, etc.), using linux boot, seabios, etc.
I was having weird issues with libreboot, where my computer would forcibly shutdown under heavy load. Apparently those CPU microcode updates actually help stability. In the #libreboot logs Leah mentioned that libreboot.org applies those microcode updates, because you can't have your website crashing under heavy load.
I also blogged about it.
