      Not necessarily true. If you want to burn cycles for the sake of shaving microseconds off latency (or gaining micropercentages in throughput) your data needs to have enough value to be WORTH those cycles. Outside of HFT, there aren't many places where that's true; or the better option wouldn't be to actually buy new / better (networking) equipment after all.
