This was the first thing that popped into my mind too. The name "People's front' closely resembles the name of a political body that abolished opposition in Czechoslovakia in 1948 and until 1989 became one of the most prominent symbols of the communist/Soviet oppression in the country.

There are so many names people find offensive. That was also the reason ElementaryOS changed the codename 'Isis', even though it was a reference to mythology, not to the terrorist group of the same name (they changed their name later on to IS, but still). And what about GIMP? Very offensive name!!!

Come on, do you really have to bring out the worst in every name? There will always be someone who finds something offensive.

In my place argentina, most of the political parties are named "something" front. So also I also thought this was a political reference.

IBM has the PVV algorithm. One of the extreme-right political parties here is also called PVV. Screw you IBM for siding with them!!! And VMWare has a VVD design, also the name of a right-wing political party here. And a couple of local restaurants use HvH as abbreviation, while the biggest local party is also called HvH. ZOMG!!!
