It's not that we *can't*, it's that we *won't*. I implore you to look at apt's autoremove horror stories.

When we introduce sol to phase out eopkg, it will use different internal databases and automatically record dependencies introduced through a given selection operation, so that when the time comes for the package to be removed, any automatically installed items no longer referenced will be selectable for orphan removal. My stance is that I won't do anything half-arsed, and the implementations I've seen to date definitely justify that label. As with all things in Solus, if we're going to do it, we're going to do it properly.

I wonder if the name has anything to do with Mordin, or if it's a coincidence...

Nope, it's a double barrel meaning. In Old Irish it means "light", whereas in Latin it means "alone". Merge them together and representatively
Solus is the ferry-boat taking users safely across new waters... ^^

I only found out about this "Mordin" this year due to searching for Solus on Google+

I am the very model of a scientist salarian, I've studied species turian, asari, and batarian.

I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology) because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology).

My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian, I am the very model of a scientist salarian.

What are the Budgie update about? The new-release post don't talk much about it.
