    So any other distros or betas besides ubuntu with 2.6.27 kernel?

    I really want that kernel for my aspire one and don't like the idea of spending 3 days to compile a kernel on an atom.

    Thing about ubuntu is even with the good kernel, I still have to customize tons of stuff myself when using a netbook.

      openSUSE 11.1 Beta uses the 2.6.27 kernel, as well there are KOTD's available for 11.0,10.3.

        @sloggerKhan

        When you package the kernel you can use your faster system. To compile ubuntu kernel git code (updated to latest kernel git) compile time is about 28 min on E6600. The created debs you can use on other systems of course. It would be stupid to compile the same kernel on each pc you own

          Fedora 10 and Mandriva 2007 (I think) use Kernel 2.6.27, too.
