    Because anything with KDE sucks.

have a small side monitor that big enough for conky and my twitter feed, if i rotate the screen 90? i get problems.

hoping things will be better in xorg 1.17 with my Radeon x280.
Interesting. I cannot boot up 14.10 or 15.04 without having problems with the screen/res and text size. It's too small and unreadable. Everything is blurry, too.

Why doesn't Ubuntu and other distros disable the nouveau driver or better yet, just disable both the nouveau and nvidia and let the user choose and install?

Perhaps, you add some disable command to the boot parameters but there's a half a dozen potential commands one could use. Nothing worked for me. Does anyone have a Maxwell card? Did you have trouble?

Currently, I have Ubuntu GNOME installed on one partition - upgraded from 14.04 to 14.10. But, back when it was 14.04, I switched from an old nvidia card to a Maxwell one. So, the nvidia driver was already installed.
