After struggling with Gnome3 for a few months, trying KDE and LXDE I migrated to XFCE a year or two ago. Yesterday I've installed MATE. It feels so much better. XFCE is also good, but I was missing some features. Looking forward to have the latest MATE version in Fedora.
I've been using Linux on desktop for more than 10 years. It's good that after Unity/Gnome3 craziness almost all distros include decent DE again.

I'm so happy they are still developing MATE.
I've tried gnome shell, "classic", and cinnamon, and MATE by far works best for me.

Why not use gnome-flashback
Why not use gnome-flashback? It seems to work better than ever in the latest iteration. Less buggy than Mate.
